Actors Certified Training

We Don't Teach Acting, We Train Actors

On Camera - On Set Training

Actors Certified Training (ACT) was established in 2003 in response to the industry's growing need for technically trained set-ready actors. ACT has perfected a curriculum that brings the actor to an exceptional level of preparedness for film and television production. The actors we train deliver a new standard of on-set professional capability that meets the scheduling needs of the producer and the visionary needs of the director.

The ACT Studio in North Hollywood represents 6 years of development and over one million dollars invested by Timothy Lampros, the owner and founder of ACT. His book, Hollywood Quagmire, is the definitive industry white paper on the destructive effects of improperly trained actors in the film and television industry.

Actors Certified Training was created because we believe training institutions must be responsible to the industry by preparing actors to perform on set in feature films and television.

Train to do it, before you are paid to do it.

We specifically train actors to understand what is expected of them in front of a motion picture camera, to receive & deliver the director's vision and reduce per-shot production time and costs. ACT successfully provides actors with the technical skills necessary to be cast consistently and to get the shot.

The number 1 responsibility of the actor is to follow directions
and get the shot.

Designed from the perspective of Directors, Producers, Writers, Technicians (Crew) and Casting Directors, ACT is confident it trains high-quality actors of note, eliminating the need for reality casting.

The number 1 job of the actor is to get hired.

Performing on a demanding set, in front of a motion picture camera requires very unique sets of skills. This can only be acquired and enhanced by training in an environment with conditions that approximates an actual professional film & television production. There needs to be real sets, real cameras, real lights, real grip & electric equipment and this means a real investment! Proper preparation cannot take place solely in a class room or on a theater stage or worse yet, in a living room or spare bedroom. Training on-camera requires much more than a little commercial video camera on a flimsy tripod.

Quality cameras and equipment

ACT has invested over 100 thousand dollars in cameras and over 250 thousand dollars in other production equipment.

The ACT studio is one of the most expansive training facilities in Los Angeles with over 9,000-sq-ft of interior & exterior training space. Complete with two sound stages, two on-camera training studios along with dedicated exterior/outside training areas. ACT has a FULL TIME staff of 6 and is open 7 days a week. We train actors to get hired consistently and to be able to get the shot.

"...if I had had this training at the beginning of my career I'd be a star by now. I honestly believe the book, Hollywood Quagmire , will change the industry just as ACT is and will do the same."

Dear Tim & A.C.T. - April, 2010
"I owe an incredible amount of gratitude to the class you created! Through your class I learned exactly what I was doing in an audition, what I look like, how to fill the frame, make interesting choices, wear the right cloths, feel at ease in the interview, walk into the room with confidence, and book the office. I was also able to narrow down my "type" and bring the essential parts of me to each audition. I LOVE auditioning and put effort and thought into each one. I hope that actors realize the value in investing in your course. My investment continues to pay off daily.

Since class I have done the following: signed with Daniel Hoff Commercially, signed with AKA talent for voice over and been cast in 22 parts in Commercials, Feature films, Web Series, Voice Overs and the list is growing.

Your course gave me the tools for success and my hard work and ability to utilize those tools daily is building my career.

Thank You very much!" - C. Ashleigh Caldwell, A.C.T. Graduate Fall 2008

Dear TIM,
"This was the best class I have ever taken during my time as an actor, both now and 12 years ago. The Instructors were all extremely committed to the curriculum and approach of the training. I feel very lucky to have been exposed to ACT at a SAG seminar. It was a pure fluke yet it was the best thing I have ever done in terms of training."
-Jayne Clement, SAG, Winter 2008
